After seeing gorillas (or were they apes?) at the National Zoo a few years ago, I’m beyond convinced that they (and probably most of their fellow primates) are very closely related to humans. I guess this isn’t news, but it’s insane to see them on display in concrete cells when any feeling person can see the intelligence and emotion in their eyes. I don’t claim to be an expert, but it doesn’t feel right.
