Yes. And as we were saying last night, you then have to ask yourself why the government perpetuates the fear to such a great degree. What is the agenda?

  2. Ezra Says:

I think they’re certainly using it to their advantage, but I think that’s not quite the interesting thing here. The idea that people learning to not be scared is actually counter-terrorism is what I think is right on.

Yeah, you’re right–I think that’s his main point and it’s a very good one. Whatever the government’s motives are (and I do think it’s worth it to ask that question), it’s at least as important–if not moreso–to learn not to let them scare us. Fear is vulnerability in our relationship with terrorists and our relationship with our government.

Hi! I saw your comment on Nick Carr’s blog. You said “…50 people reading my blog seems quite gratifying” and that’s the way it should be! All the nonsense about “hits” and “traffic” mean nothing. Even if you do have a lot of visitors, how many would bother clicking through those Google (and other) ad boxes?
I’m trying to take my blog to a “discussion board” level, hoping that people will stop by, read my posts, and offer comments… but those comments can be a scarce as hen’s teeth!
