I figured that proposing in a semi-public place meant they might not care about being seen, or maybe they wanted a crowd. But I know I proposed to Terri in a semi-public place that had some meaning for us, and I didn't really want other people around, so it was some tricky maneuvering to time it right.

There wasn't a crowd around, really, so, it was sort of ambiguous about whether or not they wanted people to watch.

Ahhhhhh, you big softie.

If there had been a crowd I'm sure you could have gotten a round of applause going. That's something they'd always remember.

When I proposed to my wife in New York, a woman passing by stopped and called out in a loud voice, "Was that a proposal? Did I just witness a proposal?" Six years later it's still one of the things we remember best about that day, and it still makes us laugh.
