I never thought about how DIY Mr. Rogers was: “I’m the host, yes. And I do all the puppets. And I write all the songs. And I write all the scripts.” DIY might not be quite it. Gesamkunstwerk, maybe.

My favorite word (Gesamkunstwerk) and my favorite children’s show host all in one post. It warms the very cockles of my heart I tell you. It’s hard to imagine a time when people weren’t familiar with the Mr. Rogers Show and you’d have to explain it to them.
