Jet Boy, Jet Girl
A hit for Plastic Bertrand (as “Ca Plane Pour Moi“) and The Damned, I stand by the Elton Motello original, presented here, in glorious cheesy German TV glory:
Honorable mention to the Sonic Youth cover of “Ca Plane Pour Moi” from 1995’s Freedom of Choice complilation.

As a general rule, compilation/tribute albums are usually lame but I still listen to Freedom of Choice. Sonic Youth’s version is still my favorite, if only because Thurston just makes up nonsense lyrics.
Also, this cuts off at the very end but you get the idea.

There was a while when I thought Sonic Youth’s participation on a tribute record was a pretty reliable indication of notlameness — the Neil Young tribute “The Bridge” (as opposed to every other Neil Young tribute ever), f’r instance, and “If I Were a Carpenter.”

His little dance is spectacular! Bwah! Too bad his voice is so blah. And how about that lip sync?
I love Germany.
(I hate to comment on such things, but that woman with the toaster needs a sandwich.)
